Home, for now- Friday, July 5th, 2013

After cooling off last night, the girls spent a few minutes chasing the many lightning bugs outside of the hotel.  That was our fireworks for the 4th.

Today we slept in. After several days of waking up at 5:30 AM followed by being out in the draining heat, we were all exhausted.  We had breakfast at Bob Evans, bought some bungee cords to strap the tent poles to the kayak rack, and headed for home.

Julie saw signs for Clyde Peeling's Reptileland and asked if we could stop this time through.  Since she'd done so much for Scott to have the week he wanted, he had to say yes.   It was actually a much nicer place then he expected.   There was a pair of huge alligators in the first exhibit, and some very interesting looking smaller reptiles in nice exhibits in the next building.  There was a dinosaur walk, with animatronic dinosaurs, and a small butterfly house.  We had a lunch there, and then saw the show they had, which concluded with the opportunity to touch a baby alligator and a boa.  Then it was back on the road to home, but we all agreed it was a nice stop.

Scott's planning on going to the 154th NY Descendants Reunion tomorrow when Julie and the girls go to her friend Laura's baby shower.   Now that we're home it's time for the final countdown to the BIG trip this summer.  We leave a week from Monday for Britain and Ireland, via Paris.  Lots to do to get ready.
