Swords- Thursday, August 15, 2013

We're getting ready for the big trip back tomorrow and taking it kind of easy today.  We decided not to take a bus into Dublin.  Instead, we slept in late, and then walked to the Swords Pavilion mall, about a mile or so away.   We took the girls to see an early showing of Smurfs 2, and had lunch at KFC.  We did a little shopping.  Scott bought some more Irish CDs.  When it was time to walk home, we found a cab because it was raining.  The cab driver was very talkative.   Julie and Scott walked next door to bring Pizza Dog pizza back for dinner.
Julie said at breakfast that when we did "Highs and Lows" at dinner tonight, that we would each give our highs and lows from the entire trip.  Here's what we said:

Anna's Highs and Lows-
Highs- Adopting Molly the seal
    Her birthday in Paris
    Disney
Going to the beaches (Brighton and Skerries)
    Seeing the Tattoo
Lows- Her knee bothered her

Emma's Highs and Lows
Highs- Disneyland
     Adopting Molly and the Penguin
     Tattoo
     Night at the Eiffel Tower
Lows- the weather
Westminster Abbey, where she was creeped out

Scott's Highs and Lows-
High- All the things we did that had to do with songs- Like the Giant's Ring, Kilkelly, Culloden, Vinegar Hill, and those things.
       Hearing Paul and Heather again.
The best day might have been our day on the Antrim Coast.  2nd place may be the day at Winchester, Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor.
Lows- The day we had the screeching noise in the car.
The night and morning after the Tattoo.
Trying to get AAA to respond to us

Julie did her highs by country-
France- Versailles, even though it was hot.
      England- London Eye
      Wales- Doctor Who Experience
      Scotland- Scenery
      Northern Ireland- Giant's Causeway
      Republic of Ireland- Leprechaun Museum
Lows- Falling on her knee in London and the Cliffs of Moher
The extremes in weather, from too hot to too cold.
Not having a hotel room when we arrived in Paris
Not being able to feed the birds in London
