Friday, February 17, 2023- Off to Disney... Again!

This year, 2023, we've got Anna's wedding coming in August, and all of the expenses that will come with that.  We've tried to be low-key about any trips we were planning this year because of that.  That's hard to do, though, when we end up watching a lot of YouTube with people like Tom Corless on WDW News today and Molly (formerly of AllEars.net, now "Mammoth") who are constantly reminding us of how cool it would be to be in Disney World.  After teasing ourselves for a while with content like that, we finally decided to drive to Florida during the week off we have in February.  We plan to go resort hopping like we did last April.  It's wrong to say that it's free because we will be paying for Disney hotels and food, but we were able to talk ourselves out of going to a park like the Magic Kingdom or Epcot this time in order to keep the expenses down.  (At least, that's what we're saying at this point.)  We know that there's a lot we can do at the resorts and Abby can have fun with the playgrounds and pools.  Emma has school at UB this week, but Abby is coming with us and she has said several times that she wants to give Minnie Mouse a kiss.  We'll have to see if we can get that to happen.

It's been a busy week building to this.  In addition to school, we had a concert to go to on Wednesday night.  We saw Alan Doyle, formerly of Great Big Sea, at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo.  Then yesterday, on Thursday, Scott had a late night because with a competition with his Academic Challenge Bowl team.  Today, after a full day of school, he and Emma went to see the new Marvel movie: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.  It made for a long day, but seeing the Marvel movies is their thing, and Scott was glad they made time for it.   When they got home from the theater, Julie had the car packed and ready to go.

It was a little after 7:15 when we got on the road.  We saw some fireworks near the road, just before we turned south near Erie, PA.  After about four hours of driving, we stopped a little north of Pittsburgh.  Abby wasn't really sleeping in the car, so we found a cheap motel to spend the night at.

[There aren't really any pictures from this day, but Julie took this one of Scott on Feb. 19th, at the All-Star Movies Resort.  It seemed appropriate to put it here.]
