Watertown, NY- Friday, October 11, 2024
It's Indigenous People's Day Weekend, previously known as Columbus Day Weekend. For that matter, it's also Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Whatever you call it, we have three days off from school and plan to squeeze the most out of them. We're headed to the Adirondacks, where we will eventually meet up with Emma.
We packed the car last night and left immediately after Scott picked up Julie from her school and they both got Abby from daycare. We drove to Watertown, NY, stopping only for dinner at a Burger King, so we made pretty good time.
Julie's folks are planning on driving to Emma's place tomorrow morning, Saturday. They are going to eat lunch and dinner with her and spend the afternoon with her. When she leaves to come join us, Julie's parents will go to their hotel and drive home on Sunday. Meanwhile, we've got a full slate of things to do as we cross the Adirondacks tomorrow, and expect to rendezvous with Emma at a hotel near Saratoga Springs.
We don't have many pictures from today, but here's one from the hotel, one from Abby at daycare today, and a couple of the northern lights last night. Anna was excited to call Dad last night and share pictures she was taking of the auroras and he went outside and took these.
