Erie, PA- Friday, August 2, 2024

      When we went to the hotel breakfast this morning, we found it was way overcrowded, mainly because of families like us who were there for the water park.  They really needed twice as much room.  We found a table, somehow though.  The breakfast area was right next to the hotel pool, and very few other people seemed interested in that.  Abby didn't overlook it!  It was a lovely pool, and there were only a small handful of kids that were there when we were.

     After the swim, we packed up the room and checked out.  Our wristbands for Splash Lagoon were still valid today, so we went back there.  We had to wait a little, but when the doors opened at 11:00, wee went straight to the wave pool again.  Abby was thrilled to be in it, and all three of us went in.  She seemed to still be tired from yesterday, and eventually the wave pool began to bother her.  It didn't help when Mom slipped  in the pool and Abby freaked out a little from that.  We were in the wave pool for over 45 minutes, though.  

     It was time for lunch, so we picked up some McDonald's and drove to Presque Isle State Park and found a picnic table near the beach to eat.   After lunch, Abby went down in to the shore of Lake Erie and played in the sand as the lake's wave washed over her feet. Julie took a moment to text a picture to Anna and said that Erie PA was just like the Outer Banks, only cheaper.  Anna just responded, "Ummm, no. lol."  

     Dad wanted to stop at Books Galore, the comic shop that he usually stops in when he's in Erie.  He got a couple of things there while Mom and Abby went to Starbucks and Wendy's to get everyone some drinks.  It was the middle of the afternoon, but we felt like we had done quite a bit.  After all, Abby had played in water in three different places today.  We made our way back home.
